Ian Dudden, Founder & Managing Director, QED Markets
Ian Dudden has over 30 years of experience with extensive knowledge of the global commodity, financial and equity markets gained in senior management roles at a world-leading exchange – Liffe - and in the investment bank sector – J Aron/Goldman Sachs and Philip Brothers/Citigroup.
While responsible for the Commodities business at Liffe, he drove substantial growth in the portfolio of products to consistently break trading records and to become global price benchmarks, alongside the building of business partnerships globally, spanning Europe, USA and Asia.
He also led a great number of significant projects including the development and launch of a wide range of new or significantly enhanced derivative contracts in the Softs and Agricultural commodity sector as well as an OTC clearing facility; the implementation of new technology platforms including the Guardian Commodity Management System; the identification and pursuit of $1bln+ M&A opportunities; and the successful migration of Liffe’s open-outcry commodities trading floor to the exchange’s electronic trading platform.
In 2014 Dudden founded QED Markets, providing consultancy and interim management services relating to the exchange traded, OTC, or Physical/Cash markets. Functions covered are wide-ranging and include Business Development & Strategy; Regulation; Operations & Change; and Training.
